Julian Hodge Bank obtained authorised status under the Banking Act in 1987. This event however belies the Group's pedigree in that it was nurtured from the same stable that created Chartered Trust and the Bank of Wales. All three institutions were founded by Sir Julian Hodge whose activities since the 1950's are widely acknowledged as having been the catalyst behind the development of the dynamic financial services sector that now exists in South Wales.

In recent years the Group has provided a broad range of financial products and services to corporate customers. The Group does not offer a "one stop" financial shop but delivers complementary corporate products in a seamless manner, to maximise the value of each relationship.

The Bank's aim is to provide a traditional approach to banking characterised by the establishment of close personal relationships with customers enabling the provision of appropriate lending solutions, suitably tailored to meet the particular needs of individual customers.

Loans are available for most types of property for acquisition as investments or for owner occupation. Funds are available for residential and commercial building developments, business expansion, capital investment, or balance sheet restructuring. Secured overdraft facilities provide a source of funds to meet working capital requirements.
